You can now purchase books directly from Red Room, and a significant portion of the proceeds goes directly to your favorite authors. When you buy books on Red Room you’ll immediately receive an introduction to your literary heroes, so you can communicate directly with them and stay connected. You’ve read their writing, now they want you to write them back.

That's why we're doing something so radical no other business would do it; we're sending 5% of our sales to your favorite independent bookstore or library.We know you want the convenience of buying books online and you care about supporting your community’s book culture. So do we. The people behind Red Room are authors, editors, librarians, book designers, and readers. We are committed to building the best online bookstore in the world and we’ve come up with a way to simultaneously do our part to make sure local bookstores and libraries are still around for our children and grandchildren.
How it works
When you buy a book on Red Room, we provide a space for you to tell us where you would like us to send a check. It can be a for-profit bookstore (that’s the radical part) or a non-profit bookstore or library. For the moment, it has to be a brick and mortar establishment with an address in the United States that we confirm meets our criteria. We’ll send checks quarterly and any balance under $50 will carry over to the next quarter. That’s about it.
